Orvis Hydros II Euro Fly Fishing Reel - The wildly popular Hydros fly fishing reel now makes its debut as a fully caged European nymphing machine. Given this style of fishing heavily leans on impossibly thin running line or monofilament for casting, Orvis has modified the Hydros II into a Euro version with a full cage and tightened the tolerances to completely eliminate lines from slipping between spool and frame.

The new Orvis Hydros Reel is the result of Orvis' own desire to make something great, that much better. Orvis took a best-selling reel and removed unnecessary material to further reduce the weight while stiffening the narrow spool, which minimizes line stacking. Orvis changed the drag knob to be more ergonomically accessible and comfortable to use. Orvis further refined the seal on the sealed drag to protect the clutch bearing in the drag mechanism.
